Dog Training Products

Dog Training Products are used to assist pet owners in training their dogs to perform specific tasks or tricks. Dog Training Products are also they key your dog’s success as the pet you always wanted, rather than the dog you’ll grow to dislike.  In Dog Training Tools we discussed the benefits of using tools to help form your dog into “man’s best friend.”  In Dog Training Products we will discuss some of the various products to help you achieve your goals.

There are a number of products on the market today to help you in training your dog.  Some of them might be a little more extreme for your tastes (and mine) however you should understand what is available and make the best choice for you and your dog.

There are numerous dog train products on the market, depending on your required result. Some of your more gentler products include clickers, harnesses, gentle leaders, chew toys and treats.  One of the most popular products today is the clicker.  We looked at the clicker in Dog Clicker Training.

Some of the more extreme products may include shock collars, and choker or prong collars.  These are typically used for large breed dogs.  If you are having issues with loud aggressive barking, some manufacturers have created shock collars that will send a small shock whenever your dog barks over a certain dB level.  Choker collars put an uncomfortable amount of pressure on the dogs neck when they pull, so they tend to ease up rather than continue pulling hard.  Prong collars work the same was chokers except when pulled, some blunt prongs push into the sides of the dogs neck.  I personally wouldn’t use one of these products but they are available to those who would.

Dog Training Products aren’t necessarily limited to just small objects you hold or use on your dog.  Other products may include doors, gates, leashes, and crates.
